Do you live in a house like this?

The BS3 area has three main housing types.

A housing assessment of the BS3 area was carried out in 2012 by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, paid for by Bedminster Energy Group and SCADA using a ‘Local Energy Assessment Fund’ (LEAF) grant from the Department for Energy and Climate Change. The results went into great depth on the types of housing in the BS3 area, including identifying the three main types of homes in the area.

We think the case study is still valid. Have a look at these case studies to see what housing type you live in, and what the recommended ‘big bang’ improvements are, by downloading the file below.

The three main types are:

  • Terraced, solid walls, gas heating – case study 1
  • Semi-detached, cavity walls, gas heating – case study 2
  • Terraced; cavity wall, gas heating – case study 3
